21 April 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi attended the Eco Fashion Show on April 10, held at the Abu Dhabi Mall, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to show support to Ms. Jocelyn Peñas Pilarsky, a Filipino designer from Makati City who was chosen as one of the international designers whose works were featured during the said fashion show.
The Eco Fashion Show is a part of the UAE Green Festival, a countrywide celebration designed to raise awareness of green and environment-friendly practices in the UAE. Leading fashion designers from the Middle East region and the world showcase their eco-conscious fashion items that are produced using various green processes and socially responsible methods of fabric production. The fashion show also featured stylish couture for men, women and children using eco-friendly resources, such as sustainably grown fiber crops or recycled materials. Ms. Pilarsky presented her collections which are made of floral embellishments with natural stones, embroidery and natural fabrics.
